The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tasaki closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Tasaki looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Tasaki wants to pass the guard but Vargen is defending well.
Tasaki works his foot free and advances to mount.
Vargen tries to reverse the position but Tasaki maintains control.

Tasaki working for a guillotine from mount but Vargen is in no mood to give up.
Vargen wants to try and get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tasaki jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Vargen manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Tasaki has hold of Vargen's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Vargen seems comfortable defending it but Tasaki has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Vargen is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Vargen is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Tasaki couldn't care less - he's delighted!
