PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bane Baphomet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pavlo Esca (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bane Baphomet!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Pavlo Esca!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Skip Squint and Winston Howard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baphomet misses with the combination.
Baphomet throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Baphomet lands with a nice body punch.
Esca throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Esca shoots in and bounces Baphomet off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Baphomet looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Esca has picked Baphomet up and slammed him! Baphomet can't keep hold of the triangle and Esca manages to pass to side control!

Esca tries for a kimura but Baphomet is defending well.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Esca scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Esca is tying to control. Baphomet wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Esca darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Baphomet is in trouble now - Esca has advanced to mount!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Esca wants to control the pace but Baphomet is squirming around nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Pavlo Esca will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Baphomet lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Baphomet feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Esca sprawling to the canvas! Esca rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Baphomet finish him?!

A combination from Baphomet does no damage.

Baphomet throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Esca colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Baphomet as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Esca is left battered and dazed whilst Baphomet and his camp cheer!
