Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jim Dunlop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dee Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dunlop comes to the cage accompanied by Droppin' Plates by Disturbed. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jim Dunlop!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dee Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Saam Ante and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dunlop moves into range and clinches up with Johnson.
Johnson trying to land knees to the body.
Dunlop goes for a takedown attempt but Johnson pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Johnson darts in and clinches Dunlop up against the cage.
Dunlop stalling in the clinch.
Johnson is trying to force a seperation but Dunlop has the dominant position.
Johnson lands a body shot.
Johnson avoiding damage as Dunlop throws knees to the body.
Johnson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Dunlop lands a takedown into guard.

Johnson throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Johnson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dunlop can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Dunlop trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Dunlop throws a strike but Johnson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Dunlop has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Johnson has passed into side control.
Dunlop on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Dunlop tries to get out of the position.

Johnson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Dunlop knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Johnson decides to stand up, so the ref orders Dunlop to his feet.

Johnson wants to clinch but Dunlop slips to the side

and Dunlop counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Dunlop has Johnson pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Dunlop pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Johnson tumbling to the mat - Dunlop dives into Johnson's guard.

Dunlop postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Johnson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Dunlop, into his guard.
Johnson wants to pass the guard but Dunlop is keeping the position.

Dunlop wants to stand up but Johnson is controlling him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Johnson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Dunlop dives on top into guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Johnson is looking for a triangle but Dunlop pushes his legs off easily.
Dunlop cracks Johnson with a solid left hand.
Dunlop trying to control but Johnson is working from the bottom.

Dunlop pushes down on Johnson's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Johnson wants to get back to full guard.
Johnson is trying to stand.
Johnson looks gassed!
Dunlop wants to lay and pray for a moment but Johnson keeps working.
Dunlop missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

Johnson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Dunlop pulls his head out easily.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Dunlop looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Johnson is fending him off so far but Dunlop persists. Nope, Johnson circles away and we're back to standing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Dee Johnson will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Dunlop shoots in but Johnson avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Johnson is looking to clinch.
Johnson tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Dunlop counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Dunlop.

Johnson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Johnson forces Dunlop back against the cage and clinches.
Johnson wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Dunlop has Johnson pressed against the cage, preventing Johnson from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Dunlop wants a takedown but no success here.
Dunlop throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Johnson blocks it with crossed arms.

Johnson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Dunlop closes the distance and clinches up with Johnson, looking for a takedown. Dunlop pushes Johnson against the cage but Johnson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jim Dunlop. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Dunlop moves into the clinch.
Johnson is trying to break the clinch but Dunlop is controlling him.

and Dunlop counters with a shoot takedown. Johnson fights it but they end up in guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Johnson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Johnson wants to stand but Dunlop is controlling the position.

Dunlop might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Dunlop looking to sit in guard and control but Johnson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Dunlop has a closed guard, preventing Johnson from standing up.
Johnson won't allow Dunlop to sweep him here.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Johnson trying to stand up but can't free himself from Dunlop's guard.
Dunlop has Johnson pulled in close to control his posture.

Johnson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Dunlop manages to escape and get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jim Dunlop dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Johnson scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Dunlop doesn't seem bothered though.
Johnson turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Dunlop shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Johnson as he jumps to the side.
Johnson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Johnson wants it to stay on the feet.
Dunlop fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jim Dunlop. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Johnson lands a body shot.
Johnson wants to clinch but Dunlop slips to the side

and Dunlop counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Johnson avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Johnson keeping moving, preventing Dunlop from controlling successfully.
Dunlop has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Dunlop working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Johnson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Dunlop defends it easily.

Johnson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Johnson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Dunlop defends it well.
Dunlop is trying to maintain the position but Johnson is very close to passing his half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dunlop wants to get back to his feet.

Johnson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Dunlop pushes Johnson off and gets back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Johnson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Johnson pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch but Dunlop swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Johnson misses with a low kick.
Dunlop shoots in looking for a takedown. Johnson tries to sprawl out of it but Dunlop keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Johnson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

And that's the end of the fight!
Dee Johnson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Johnson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
