Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dylan James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Izakawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shigeki Sano and Kenichi Hosakawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

James drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

James gets to his feet - Izakawa follows without any prompting.

and James counters with a nice double leg into guard.
James passes Izakawa's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Izakawa tries to push off, looking to stand up, but James manages to move to mount!

James cracks Izakawa with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

James wants to control the pace but Izakawa is squirming around nicely.

James is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Izakawa can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
James tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Izakawa tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
James controlling the pace for now.
Izakawa is in a horrible position here. James smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

James takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
James with the ground and pound from mount.
Izakawa tries to hold on but James pushes him away.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

James has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
James is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Izakawa can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Izakawa is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the ropes but James has just dragged him back down to the mat.

James stands up and beckons Izakawa to his feet.
James lands a jab to Izakawa's midsection.

and James counters with a head kick that drops Izakawa - he's looking to finish, following his stunned foe to the ground!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with James in particular looking to stall.
James has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Dylan James just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Izakawa closes the distance but James moves to the side

and James counters with a takedown into side control.
James is staying tight to Izakawa's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Izakawa tries to buck James off but James is having none of it.
James is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

James cracks Izakawa with a big right hand but Izakawa just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Izakawa tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but James wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Izakawa takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

James has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

James digs a good hook to Izakawa's body.

James throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Izakawa stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. James follows into mount!
Izakawa is still in real trouble! Can James finish him?
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
James loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Izakawa scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from James land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. James stands and salutes the crowd.
