Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Benny Allen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Ghandi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ghandi is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by I Wish. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Benny Allen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Matt Ghandi!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Seu Braga and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ghandi tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Allen swinging wildly here.
Allen avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Ghandi stuffs the takedown attempt from Allen. Allen gets slowly back to his feet.
Allen dives in and grabs Ghandi's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ghandi pushes down on Allen's head and hops out.
Ghandi is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Ghandi tries to close the distance and clinch up but Allen swats him away and circles back towards the center.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Allen blocks the body kick.
Ghandi wants to clinch.
Ghandi tries to clinch up but Allen circles away and keeps his distance.
Ghandi tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Allen paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Allen throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Ghandi tries to close the distance and clinch up but Allen swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Allen will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Allen throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ghandi was covering up waiting for the punch and Allen finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Allen throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Ghandi utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Allen trying to control but Ghandi is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Allen loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Ghandi is looking to stand back up but Allen counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Ghandi.

Allen is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ghandi is just riding it out for now. Allen eventually gives up the hold.

Ghandi pushes Allen off looking to stand but Allen dives back in and keeps control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Ghandi fails in his attempt to clinch.
Ghandi is looking to clinch but Allen is avoiding it.
Matt Ghandi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Allen throws a body punch but Ghandi moves out of range.
Ghandi tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Allen paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Nice body punch from Allen.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ghandi moves in looking to clinch but Allen pushes him off.
Allen throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Allen misses with a takedown attempt - Ghandi sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Ghandi tries to close the distance and clinch up but Allen swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Ghandi moves in looking to clinch but Allen pushes him off.
Allen looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ghandi is fending him off so far but Allen persists. Nope, Ghandi circles away and we're back to standing.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Ghandi tries to close the distance and clinch but Allen swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
A looping hook to the body misses from Allen. Ghandi does a little dance to reset his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Matt Ghandi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Allen throws and low kick but Ghandi moves out of range easily.
Ghandi tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Ghandi throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Matt Ghandi is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Allen shoots in for a takedown but Ghandi shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Allen swats away the attempt to clinch by Ghandi.
Ghandi misses with a kick to the body.

Allen closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Allen controlling the pace.
Allen not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Allen is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Ghandi is holding on to half guard well.

Allen is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Allen controlling the pace.
Allen seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ghandi does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Allen content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Allen is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Allen is just content to waste time from the top position. Ghandi takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Ghandi has Allen pulled in close to control his posture.

Allen is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Ghandi is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Ghandi has escaped and now he's on top!
Allen wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Ghandi is now in half guard.

Ghandi decides to stand up.
Allen takes a swing at Ghandi's ribcage but misses.

Ghandi fails with an attempt to clinch.
Ghandi throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Allen's head.
Allen swats away the attempt to clinch by Ghandi.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Allen.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Allen shoots in for a takedown but Ghandi shows good takedown defense.

Matt Ghandi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Allen fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ghandi manages to avoid it.

Ghandi moves in looking to clinch but Allen pushes him off.
Ghandi looks to land a combination but Allen avoids it well.

Allen keeps the fight on the outside.

Allen feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Allenis looking to pass into half guard but Ghandi pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Ghandi is in guard.
Allen manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ghandi manages to get himself to full guard.

Allen trying to control but Ghandi is working from the bottom.
Allen tries to free his leg and advance position but Ghandi is retaining full guard.

Allen postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Ghandi is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Allen, into his guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Ghandi would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Ghandi must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Allen looking to control.
Ghandi is fighting to break Allen's control of his arms but Allen is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Allen looking for subs off his back but Ghandi has passed one foot through into half guard.
