Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Cedric Steele (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Justin Case (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steele comes to the cage accompanied by Ironman. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Justin Case!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, John Roberts and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Case tries to clinch but Steele moves out of range.
Steele jabs at Case's body.
Justin Case seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Case will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Steele uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Case.
A swing and a miss from Steele.

Case is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Steele's half guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Case shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Steele but Steele pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Steele paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Justin Case is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Case looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Steele is fending him off so far but Case persists. Nope, Steele circles away and we're back to standing.
Steele sizes up Case with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Case takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
The crowd cheers as Steele lands an impressive looking overhand right. Case doesn't seem phased though.

A punch lands to the side of Case 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Steele throws a jab but it's blocked by Case.

Case feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Steele tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Case drops back looking for a leg! Steele is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Steele manages to kick Case off! Case jumps back into Steele's guard.
Steele seems keen to control Case's posture.
Case throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Case trying to control the position from guard on top but Steele is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Steele is trying to keep Case in close.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Steele!
Steele connects with a looping right hand.

Case drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Case wants to lay and pray for a moment but Steele keeps working.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Steele on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

Case drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Steele manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Case has Steele in his guard.

Case takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Case is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Case has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Case has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Steele is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Case.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Case is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Steele is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Steele has escaped and now he's on top!

Case is looking to improve his position but Steele isn't that keen on the idea.
Case wants to hold on but Steele pushes him away.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Case is trying desperately to improve position.

That was a close round but Cedric Steele did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Steele, as that shot connected.
Case shoots in for a takedown but Steele shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

and Case takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Case is absolutely dripping with sweat - he looks exhausted.

Steele has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Case is working away from the top position though.

Steele rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Case moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Steele takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Steele postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Case looks a forlorn figure.
Steele can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Case is looking to escape.
Case trying desperately to get to his feet.
Case is desperately trying to improve his position but Steele has a good base and remains in mount.
Case flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close fourth round but I would say that Cedric Steele will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Steele is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
