Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Gold (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Geter Done (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gold's entrance music is Drop The World. A fine choice. Geter Done is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mike Gold!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Geter Done!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Hugh Johnson and Winston Howard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gold tries to close the distance and clinch up but Done swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Gold misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Gold tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Gold swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Done throws a right hand that Gold ducks under and follows up with a left that Gold also avoids with ease.
Gold showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Done.

Gold lands a left and a right that send Done crashing to the mat, dazed. Gold thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Geter Done has been cut.
Gold tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Gold swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
enabling Done to counter with a crisp jab.
Gold closes the distance looking to clinch
and Done counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Gold misses with a combination

and Done counters with a nice double leg into side control. Gold won't be happy with that.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gold is trying to buck Done off.
Gold manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Done looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Gold with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Gold throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Done missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gold wants to get back to his feet.
Done thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Gold's head.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Done lands a nice short elbow.

Done is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Gold is just riding it out for now. Done eventually gives up the hold.
Done looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Done thows a huge punch but Gold dodges it nicely.
Gold misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Gold wants to get back to his feet.
Done controlling the action here.
Done seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Gold does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Gold on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Done has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Done scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Done drops an elbow to the side of Gold's head.
Done working over Gold with some ground and pound. Gold looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Done prevents Gold from improving his position.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Gold is breathing heavily.
Gold flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Done seems to be looking for submissions.

Gold regains full guard. Nicely done.

Gold escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Done gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Done throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gold works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Done stands up over Gold, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Done stands up from Gold's guard - Done perhaps looking for a knockout.
Done fakes the leg kick and cracks Gold in the body.
Gold wants to clinch

and Done counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Gold looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Done working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

Gold wriggles free and stands up.
Done scores with a three punch combo!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Oh Gold is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
A big shot lands for Done! That's hurt Gold! Will he recover? Done fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
