Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kal Too (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Long (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jimmy Long acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kal Too!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jimmy Long!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Ren Mimura and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Long slips a jab and a cross from Too.
No joy there for Too, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Too closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Long to the mat! Long manages to get full guard.
Too controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Long looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Long working a defensive guard here.
Long manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Long has control of Too's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Too regains control of the situation pretty easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Long goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Too is on top in guard.
Too stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Long swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Long working for submissions but it's allowed Too to get to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Too perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Too has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Too has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Too controlling from mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Long sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Long is in trouble now - Too has advanced to mount!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kal Too dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Too misses with a low kick.
Too lands with a thumping leg kick.

Too shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Too looking to control and managing it successfully.
Long is working to get back to half guard.
Too controlling the position easily from mount.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Too seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Long for as long as he can get away with.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Kal Too just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Too looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Long!
Too looking to control and managing it successfully.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Too's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Long is desperately trying to improve his position but Too has a good base and remains in mount.
Too controlling the pace for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kal Too dominated that second round.
That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Long fails to land the takedown.

Too changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Long looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
A lull in the action here as Too stalls from top position.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Kal Too just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Too shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Long is looking for a sweep. Too is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Too performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Long slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Too passes easily into side control. Nice work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Long seems a little lost for a moment, as Too dominates the positioning.
Too tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
The referee asks Too politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Too prefers to stall for the moment though.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kal Too overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Long tries to buck Too off but Too is having none of it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Long is trying to escape the position but Too is controlling the position.
Long gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Kal Too is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Too tries to pass to full mount but Long defends it.
Too not doing much here.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kal Too showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Too has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
