Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jake Thumbson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Augusto Vera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thumbson throws a head kick that Vera semi-blocks.

Thumbson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Vera looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Thumbson is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Vera has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Thumbson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Vera on the ground.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Vera tries to score with some ground and pound. Thumbson controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Vera is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Thumbson will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Vera's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Vera tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Vera has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Vera throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

It looks like Augusto Vera has been cut.

and Vera counters by clinching up.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Thumbson wants to get back to striking at distance but Vera won't allow it.

Vera misses with a takedown attempt - Thumbson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Thumbson, right into the meat.

Jake Thumbson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Augusto Vera.
Vera is breathing heavily.
Thumbson throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Thumbson buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Thumbson moves out of range of the body kick from Vera.
Thumbson throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Vera.

Vera is rocked!
The fighters circle, before Thumbson throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Vera's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Thumbson lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
