The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valjean throws a leg kick but VanderShmoot checks it.

VanderShmoot cracks Valjean with an open hand slap.
Valjean throws a series of punches but VanderShmoot avoids them all with ease.
VanderShmoot throws a wild body kick that Valjean sees coming a mile off.
Valjean tries a low kick but VanderShmoot avoids it.
Jean Valjean seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
VanderShmoot avoids a punch combination nicely.

A shot to de liver by VanderShmoot. Beautiful body shot.
Valjean takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Valjean shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Valjean uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from VanderShmoot.

VanderShmoot sends Valjean crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! VanderShmoot is motioning to the referee to let Valjean up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Valjean is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Valjean drops his hands momentarily. VanderShmoot doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Valjean staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Valjean doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
