Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tugg Speedman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Romero Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tugg Speedman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Romero Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paul Aken and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Speedman takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Gracie looks to land a left hand but Speedman moved out of range nicely.
Speedman has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Gracie finds it's way round the side to connect with Speedman's head.


It looks like Tugg Speedman has been cut.
Romero Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Speedman looks to land a right hand but Gracie moved out of range.
Gracie needs to keep his hands up - Speedman had a free shot at his head there.

Gracie looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Speedman is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Gracie's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Gracie's back!

Gracie manages to reverse the position and now he's in Speedman's guard. Nice work there by Gracie.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Gracie shoots in looking for a takedown. Speedman tries to sprawl out of it but Gracie keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Speedman manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Gracie fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Speedman avoids it really well and circles away.
Gracie misses the jab.
The fighters circling - Gracie throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Speedman takes a swing at Gracie's ribcage but misses.
Gracie doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Tugg Speedman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Romero Gracie.

Speedman drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Speedman drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Speedman jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Speedman postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Gracie is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Speedman, into his guard.
Gracie working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Speedman not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Gracie wanted to stand there but Speedman had control of the position.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Speedman bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gracie's guard.
Speedman not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Gracie is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Speedman uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gracie.

Gracie has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Gracie feints and then cracks Speedman's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Speedman down.

Gracie is looking for a triangle but Speedman pushes his legs off easily.
Gracie wants to sweep here but Speedman controlling him for the moment.
Speedman sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Gracie's guard.

Speedman is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Speedman is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Gracie doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Speedman.
