The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
voyager is trying hard to land a takedown here. Lightning sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
voyager motions for Lightning to come forward. voyager throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
voyager misses with a low kick.

Lightning shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
voyager gets back to full guard.
voyager tries to strike from the bottom.
Lightning wants to control from the top but voyager keeps moving.
Lightning passes voyager's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Lightning is sneakily working for an arm triangle but voyager sees it coming and defends easily.
voyager is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Lightning is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so voyager is just riding it out for now. Lightning eventually gives up the hold.

voyager is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Lightning's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Lightning's back!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lightning thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lightning is breathing heavily.

Lightning is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as voyager holds on and takes a little breather.

voyager is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Lightning trying to control the position from guard on top but voyager is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

voyager controls Lightning momentarily but Lightning frees himself.

voyager is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Lightning is squirming around, avoiding voyager's attempts to control the action.

Lightning takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! voyager's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
