The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
carlson throws a body punch but Amiano moves out of range.
Amiano tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but carlson swivels and escapes.
carlson fails in his attempt to clinch.
carlson misses with the combination.
carlson tries to clinch up but Amiano circles away and keeps his distance.
carlson scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
carlson cracks Amiano with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Amiano fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with carlson, pushing him back against the cage.
Amiano tries to pull guard but carlson holds him up against the cage and eventually Amiano drops back down to his feet.
Amiano has had enough of the clinch but carlson keeps him there for the moment.
carlson will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Amiano up against the cage.
carlson manages to break the clinch.

and Amiano counters by moving into the clinch.
carlson tries to pull guard but Amiano holds him up against the cage and eventually carlson drops back down to his feet.
carlson is looking to control Amiano's arms but Amiano gets an underhook and turns him. Now carlson has his back to the cage.
carlson has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Amiano uses from the top position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if carlson can do anything to dispel that myth.
carlson thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
carlson controls Amiano momentarily but Amiano frees himself.
Amiano has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
carlson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Amiano kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

carlson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

and Amiano decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in carlson's guard.
