Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Masato Michinoku!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hector Bo Kaida!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Ren Mimura and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Michinoku misses with a series of wild punches.
Kaida stuffs the takedown attempt from Michinoku. Michinoku gets slowly back to his feet.
Masato Michinoku seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Michinoku lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Michinoku really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Kaida wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Michinoku has him pressed against the ropes.

Michinoku goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Michinoku jumps guard but Kaida stands there with Michinoku around his waist. Michinoku gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Kaida gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Kaida looking to throw knees to the head but Michinoku is blocking nicely.
Michinoku goes for a takedown attempt but Kaida pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
No luck for Michinoku with that takedown attempt.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Michinoku has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Kaida is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Michinoku yanks on the arm and Kaida is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Michinoku.
