Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tama Chiba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Drake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tama Chiba!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, David Drake !
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Damien Edna and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chiba stuffs the takedown.

Drake closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Drake is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Drake is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Drake is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Chiba still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Chiba has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Drake drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Chiba manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Drake has Chiba in his guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Drake is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Chiba turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Chiba goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Drake has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Chiba but great work by Drake .

Drake tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Drake has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Drake wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Chiba, who protects the arm well.

Drake swings around for an armbar but Chiba sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Drake 's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but David Drake will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Drake shoots in but no luck this time.
Drake throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Chiba's waist but Chiba gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Drake off to one side.

Drake shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Drake showed some decent athleticism there.

Drake drops back, looking for a kneebar! Chiba looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Chiba looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Chiba!

Chiba is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Drake is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Drake has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Chiba can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Chiba is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Drake doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Chiba.
Drake slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Drake has control of Chiba's left arm, preventing Chiba from doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Drake trying to keep a closed guard but Chiba is proving a slippery customer.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

I would just about give that final round to David Drake .
I've got Drake winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
