Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Fabricio Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Quick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quick pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Quick is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Silva shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Quick as he jumps to the side.
Quick throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Silva shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Quick defends it nicely.
Silva doesn't manage to clinch there - Quick circles away.
Silva blocks a head kick by Quick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Silva fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Quick manages to avoid it.
Quick slips a jab and a cross from Silva.
Quick dives in and grabs Silva's left leg, looking for a takedown. Silva pushes down on Quick's head and hops out.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Horrible takedown by Silva or perhaps it was just good defense by Quick which made him look bad.

Silva shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Quick but Quick pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Silva fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Quick sprawls well initially but Silva persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Silva is trying to control the action in half guard but Quick is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Silva is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Silva is stalling here. Quick is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Silva seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Quick has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
