Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Thia Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and JB Trent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as JB Trent enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Thia Li!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, JB Trent!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Damien Edna and Hugh Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trent takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Li throws the kick towards the body but Trent avoids it.
Li throws a body punch but Trent moves out of range.
Li blocks a low kick nicely.

Li lands a big head kick that sends Trent tumbling to the mat! Li takes a step backwards and waves Trent back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Trent is rocked!

Trent shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Trent is still in real trouble! Can Li finish him?
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Li is looking to escape.
Trent seems to have recovered his senses.
Trent working the head and body with strikes.
Trent not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Li pushes Trent off looking to stand but Trent dives back in and keeps control.
Trent sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Li defending well though.
Trent with the ground and pound but Li uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Li working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Trent.
Trent is standing up over Li. Li looks to escape but Trent dives into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Li pushes Trent away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Trent gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Trent has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Trent scores with a couple of short elbows.
Trent working the ground and pound but Li is defending the strikes.
Li wants to get back to his feet but Trent drags him back down.

Trent goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Li rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Trent's guard! Nice work there by Li!
Li wants to stand but Trent is controlling his posture from full guard.
Li is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Li is looking to stand up but Trent won't let him.
Li postures up.
Li is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Trent wants to sweep here but Li controlling him for the moment.

Li gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Trent looks gassed!
Li throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Trent tries to clinch up but Li circles away and keeps his distance.
Thia Li is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Li lands a lovely overhand right.

Li moves into the clinch.

Li breaks from the clinch.

Li lands a big head kick that sends Trent tumbling to the mat! Li takes a step backwards and waves Trent back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Li clinches.

Li pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Li! Trent is out on his feet! Li rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Trent is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Trent is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
