Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Junior Zappa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kid Koala (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koala misses with a double jab.
Koala misses with a few strikes there.

Zappa loads up on a big right hand but Koala slips the punch.
Zappa lands a right hook to the body.

Zappa dives in and grabs Koala's left leg, looking for a takedown. Koala pushes down on Zappa's head and hops out.

A looping hook to the body misses from Zappa. Koala does a little dance to reset his feet.

Zappa shoots in looking for a takedown. Koala tries to sprawl out of it but Zappa keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Koala manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Koala wants to stand but Zappa has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Koala takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Zappa throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Koala stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Zappa stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Koala swivels though and keeps the full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
