Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Klein East (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rusty Everson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). East comes into the arena with Cold as Ice- M.O.P. blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 1, fighting out of New York, Klein East!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 1, fighting out of New York, Rusty Everson!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Reed Andrews and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
East does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Everson checks a leg kick.
East scores with a leg kick.
East connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Nice cross by East.
East swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Nice takedown defense from East. No joy for Everson on that attempt.

Everson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Everson lands in his opponent's guard.
East avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Everson distracts East with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Everson throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Everson cracks East with a solid left hand.
East wants to sweep here but Everson controlling him for the moment.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
East connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
East looking to land some kicks to the body here.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Everson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but East avoids it really well and circles away.
Everson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around East's waist but East gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Everson off to one side.
Klein East has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rusty Everson.
Everson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

East lands with a thumping leg kick.
East lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
East throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Everson.
East feints and then cracks Everson's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Everson down.
Everson moves out of range of the leg kick from East.

The fight stays on the outside here - East looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

East throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Everson because East loaded up on that one.
Everson can't escape the position.
Everson is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Everson is looking to improve his position but East isn't that keen on the idea.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Everson is desperately trying to improve his position but East has a good base and remains in mount.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Everson can do anything to dispel that myth.

East scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Everson doesn't seem bothered though.

East turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
East throws a chopping leg kick but Everson manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

and East counters with a nice low kick that buckles Everson's knee momentarily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
