Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Barry Wasderman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marvolo Voldemort!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Emerson Jorge and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Voldemort gets a clinch.
Voldemort just leaning against Wasderman, taking a breather.
Voldemort lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Wasderman.
Voldemort escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Wasderman throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Voldemort's waist but Voldemort gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Wasderman off to one side.
A combination from Wasderman does no damage.
Voldemort throws a head kick but Wasderman moves out of range.
Voldemort misses with a head kick.
Wasderman looks for a takedown but Voldemort sprawls well.
Voldemort feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Voldemort controlling from the top position.
Voldemort tries to free his leg and advance position but Wasderman is retaining full guard.
Voldemort wants to get up but he can't break Wasderman's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Wasderman utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Wasderman throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Wasderman throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Wasderman looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Voldemort tries to stand but Wasderman is controlling from the bottom.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Wasderman tries for a takedown but Voldemort circles away easily
and Voldemort counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Barry Wasderman. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Wasderman wants to control but Voldemort is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Wasderman gets full guard.
Voldemort sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Wasderman doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Voldemort throws and elbow that misses. Wasderman uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Voldemort's guard. Nice move by Wasderman!
Voldemort looking for a sweep. Not yet Voldemort, not yet.
Voldemort is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Voldemort looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Wasderman has picked Voldemort up and slammed him! Voldemort can't keep hold of the triangle and Wasderman manages to pass to side control!
Voldemort is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Wasderman's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for Wasderman! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and Voldemort has tapped! This one is allllll over!
