The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCoy keeps the fight on the outside.
A looping hook to the body misses from Ligachev. McCoy does a little dance to reset his feet.

That was a close round but I would say that Jay McCoy will probably get the nod.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

McCoy lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
McCoy postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Ligachev looks a forlorn figure.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

McCoy swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Ligachev is now in McCoy's guard. A big mistake from McCoy there, giving up the dominant position!
Ligachev must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

McCoy escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ligachev gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

McCoy throws his legs up looking for a submission but Ligachev uses it to pass to side control.
McCoy tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Ligachev presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Well McCoy has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
