Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Eli Zabitz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gerald Young I (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Gerald Young I enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Eli Zabitz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Gerald Young I!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, William Gold and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Young I drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Young I is looking to take a break and control but Zabitz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Zabitz prevents Young I from moving into mount.
Young I throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Young I is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Zabitz will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Zabitz is not content to let Young I control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Zabitz tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Zabitz on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Zabitz tries to get out of the position.
Zabitz avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Young I.
Young I postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Young I shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Zabitz napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Young I is looking to take a break and control but Zabitz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Young I in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

Young I tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Young I has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Zabitz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Young I just content to control the position.

Young I wants to control but Zabitz is keeping him busy.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Zabitz avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Young I.
Zabitz struggling a bit here.
Zabitz tries to improve position but can't.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Young I is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Zabitz knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Young I decides to stand up, so the ref orders Zabitz to his feet.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Young I shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Zabitz defends it nicely.
Young I tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Zabitz paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Young I lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Zabitz circles away quickly and effectively.
Young I fails with an attempt to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Young I is looking to clinch but Zabitz is avoiding it.
Young I shoots in for a takedown but Zabitz shows good takedown defense.
Zabitz avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Young I shoots in looking for a takedown. Zabitz tries to sprawl out of it but Young I keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Zabitz manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Eli Zabitz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gerald Young I.
Young I looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Zabitz is fending him off so far but Young I persists. Nope, Zabitz circles away and we're back to standing.
Young I pulls out of a head kick attempt.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Young I throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Young I throws a head kick but Zabitz moves out of range.

Young I shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Zabitz manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Young I postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Zabitz keeping moving, preventing Young I from controlling successfully.

Young I wants to stand but Zabitz has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Young I postures up in Zabitz's guard and throws a big left but Zabitz blocks it.
Young I looking to sit in guard and control but Zabitz gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Zabitz has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Zabitz trying to stand up but can't free himself from Young I's guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Zabitz preventing the sweep.
Zabitz knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Young I on the ground.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Zabitz lands a two punch combo.
Young I looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Young I shoots in for a double leg but Zabitz sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

That was a close second round but I would say that Eli Zabitz will probably get the nod.

Zabitz throws a nice inside leg kick.
Zabitz stuffs the takedown attempt from Young I. Young I gets slowly back to his feet.
Eli Zabitz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gerald Young I.
Young I throws a left and a right that both miss
and Zabitz counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Zabitz moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Gerald Young I seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Zabitz takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

enabling Zabitz to counter with a crisp jab.
Young I takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Young I is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Young I tries to close the distance and clinch but Zabitz swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Zabitz swings for the body but Young I moves out of range.
Zabitz misses with a low kick.
Zabitz avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Young I swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Zabitz counters with a nice uppercut.
Zabitz throws a series of punches but Young I avoids them all with ease.

and Young I takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Young I throws a head kick that misses
and Zabitz counters with a series of strikes. Young I will be more careful next time no doubt.
Young I is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Young I shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Zabitz sprawls well. Zabitz wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Young I gets slowly back to his feet.
Zabitz throws a shot to the body.

Zabitz is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Zabitz scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Young I doesn't seem bothered though.
Zabitz displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Young I.

Zabitz lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Zabitz's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Zabitz duly obliges.
