The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Perry tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Williams paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Williams stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Williams wants it to stay on the feet.

Williams fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Perry manages to avoid it.

Perry changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Williams looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Perry is looking to take a break and control but Williams is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Perry looks up at the clock and then as Williams takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Perry smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Perry throws some wild stikes that Williams manages to avoid easily.

Perry has control of Williams's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Williams regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
