The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Jarkins. No joy for Seppala on that attempt.
Jarkins tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Seppala paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Seppala is trying to force a seperation but Jarkins has the dominant position.

Jarkins ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Jarkins no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Seppala stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jarkins swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jarkins can do anything to dispel that myth.
Jarkins wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Seppala is now in half guard.
Seppala is nestled in close to Jarkins, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Seppala decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Seppala shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jarkins's guard.

Seppala fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jarkins sprawls well initially but Seppala persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
