Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Angus McTavish (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Masato Takaya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Angus McTavish!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Masato Takaya!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Taro Takaoka and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takaya throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Takaya misses with a double jab.
Jab, jab by Takaya - just one landing.
McTavish looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Takaya is fending him off so far but McTavish persists. Nope, Takaya circles away and we're back to standing.
Takaya wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Takaya lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Takaya misses with a two punch combination.
Takaya throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

A nice leg kick lands there from Takaya.
McTavish closes this distance looking for a takedown but Takaya circles away.
McTavish drops Takaya with a nice combination! McTavish dives into Takaya's guard, looking to finish!

McTavish passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Takaya is still on wobbly legs! Can McTavish finish him?

Takaya is trying to control McTavish's posture but McTavish avoids it.

McTavish tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

McTavish tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no McTavish has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Takaya seems to have recovered his senses.
The ground and pound from McTavish seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
McTavish moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

McTavish goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Takaya rolls with the submission and now he's on top in McTavish's guard! Nice work there by Takaya!
Takaya wants to control from the top but McTavish keeps moving.

McTavish looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


McTavish takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
McTavish throws a jab when Takaya was well out of range.
Takaya fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Takaya jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Takaya swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and McTavish counters by clinching up.

Takaya breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
McTavish rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Takaya moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Takaya fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

McTavish pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Takaya misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

McTavish misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
McTavish throws a head kick but Takaya moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McTavish tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Takaya swivels and escapes.
McTavish stuffs the takedown attempt from Takaya. Takaya gets slowly back to his feet.
McTavish closes this distance looking for a takedown but Takaya circles away.
McTavish fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Takaya checks it well.
Takaya moves out of range of the body kick from McTavish.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
McTavish misses with a head kick.
Angus McTavish is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

and Takaya counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps McTavish thinking.
Takaya stalks McTavish and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into McTavish's face. McTavish staggers backwards, shaken.

Takaya has McTavish up against the ropes in a clinch.
Takaya can't get the takedown.
McTavish using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Takaya has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Takaya lands with a short shot to the head.
Takaya prevents a body shot from McTavish.

Takaya gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, McTavish regains guard.
Takaya controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
McTavish is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

McTavish looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

McTavish throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Takaya escapes and throws McTavish's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Takaya in side control, just content to control the action for now.
McTavish is looking for a sweep.

Takaya staying calm.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Takaya in side control, throwing shots but McTavish defends.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Takaya controlling the position.
McTavish tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Takaya is looking to control McTavish but McTavish is wriggling around and keeping busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Masato Takaya showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

McTavish shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Takaya is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, McTavish has managed to escape the submission attempt.

McTavish wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
McTavish staying busy and making it hard for Takaya to control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Takaya controlling the positon.
Takaya avoiding McTavish 's attempts to control his hands.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Takaya is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but McTavish has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

And that's the end of the fight!
Masato Takaya comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Takaya has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
