PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between SO NASTY (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlo Fertit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fertit is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: SABOTAGE. On his way into the cage it seems that SO NASTY has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily SO NASTY seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Luis Engracia and Leandro Rodrigues.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
NASTY fails with a takedown attempt.
Fertit stuffs the takedown attempt from NASTY. NASTY gets slowly back to his feet.
Fertit will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
NASTY fails to land the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for SO NASTY. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Fertit lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Fertit swats away the attempt to clinch by NASTY.
NASTY misses with a combination

and Fertit counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
NASTY tries to score a body lock takedown but Fertit shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
A short uppercut from Fertit.

Fertit's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
A combination from Fertit does no damage.
Fertit lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but NASTY circles away quickly and effectively.

Fertit lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends NASTY sprawling to the canvas. Fertit follows him down, looking for the kill. Can NASTY hang on?

It looks like SO NASTY has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Fertit tries to stand but can't do so whilst NASTY controls his leg.

NASTY is trying to stand back up but Fertit is controlling him
It looks like Fertit is going to stand back up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fertit seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Fertit wants to lay and pray for a moment but NASTY keeps working.
Fertit takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
NASTY misses with a takedown

and Fertit moves into the clinch.
NASTY is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Fertit gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Fertit prevents a takedown attempt there.
NASTY is breathing heavily.
NASTY tries to score a body lock takedown but Fertit shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Fertit escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
NASTY looks to throw a body kick
and Fertit counters with a stiff right hand.

Fertit scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

NASTY is rocked!
NASTY doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Fertit counters with a big right hand! Oh NASTY is in trouble here! Fertit follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
