The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Richards fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Baston avoids it really well and circles away.
Richards tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Richards doesn't manage to clinch there - Baston circles away.

Richards lands a big head kick that sends Baston tumbling to the mat! Richards takes a step backwards and waves Baston back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Jaron Baston has been cut.
Jaron Baston seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Baston shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Richards sprawls well. Richards wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Baston gets slowly back to his feet.

Ben Richards has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jaron Baston.
Richards throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Baston stumbling backwards into the ropes! Baston bounces back off the ropes towards Richards, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Richards lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Richards celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
