Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Earl Oyster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mikey Pepper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Earl Oyster has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Earl Oyster!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mikey Pepper!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Columbo Gatti and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Pepper.
Oyster misses with a head kick.
Oyster shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Pepper darts in and clinches Oyster up against the cage.
Oyster wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Pepper has him pressed against the cage.
Pepper keeps control of Oyster as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Oyster working hard to break the clinch.

Pepper escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Pepper fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Mikey Pepper seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pepper shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Oyster as he jumps to the side.
Earl Oyster has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mikey Pepper.
Pepper chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Oyster can pounce on him.

Pepper shoots in but Oyster avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Pepper shoots in looking for a takedown. Oyster tries to sprawl out of it but Pepper keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Oyster manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Oyster keeps the fight on the outside.
Oyster misses with a hook. Pepper ducked under it nicely.
Oyster stuffs the takedown.
A left and a right from Pepper both land. Nice combination.

Pepper wants to clinch.
Oyster leaves Pepper with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Oyster throws a good cross that connects.
Pepper tries to clinch there but Oyster circles away.
Oyster moves away from the strike by Pepper.
Earl Oyster is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Pepper shoots in looking for a takedown. Oyster tries to sprawl out of it but Pepper keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Oyster manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Pepper shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Oyster's guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Oyster wants to stand up but Pepper is controlling him.
Oyster will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Oyster keeping moving, preventing Pepper from controlling successfully.

Pepper drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Oyster manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Pepper has Oyster in his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Oyster wants to get up but he can't break Pepper's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Oyster avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Oyster is looking to stand up but Pepper won't let him.

Pepper has his foot on Oyster's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Oyster works his way back into a safe position though.
Oyster wanted to stand there but Pepper had control of the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Earl Oyster will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Pepper shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Oyster sprawls well. Oyster wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Pepper gets slowly back to his feet.
Oyster connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Pepper closes this distance looking for a takedown but Oyster circles away.
Oyster scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.


It looks like Mikey Pepper has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Oyster slaps away a takedown attempt from Pepper, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Pepper shoots in but Oyster avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Oyster connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Pepper is breathing heavily.
Pepper tries to clinch there but Oyster circles away.
Oyster stuffs the takedown attempt from Pepper. Pepper gets slowly back to his feet.
Oyster misses with a hook. Pepper ducked under it nicely.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Oyster.
Oyster swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Pepper counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Oyster!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Pepper is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Oyster has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Oyster!

Oyster trying to stand up but can't free himself from Pepper's guard.
Pepper looking to control.

Oyster stands and steps away. Pepper gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Oyster throws a right and a left that Pepper avoids nicely.

Pepper avoids the head kick by Oyster.

Oyster throws a low kick but Pepper avoids it.
Pepper walks into a jab.
Oyster misses with a kick to the body.
Pepper shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Oyster as he jumps to the side.
Mikey Pepper is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Pepper shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Pepper swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Oyster is now in Pepper's guard. A big mistake from Pepper there, giving up the dominant position!

Oyster stands up from Pepper's guard - Oyster perhaps looking for a knockout.
Pepper tries to clinch up but Oyster circles away and keeps his distance.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Oyster fails to land with a series of punches.
Pepper ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Earl Oyster dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on Mikey Pepper's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Pepper throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Oyster's waist but Oyster gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Pepper off to one side.
Oyster tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Pepper is able to avoid easily.
Oyster tried to score with a low kick but Pepper checks it.
Pepper blocks a head kick by Oyster.

Pepper looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Oyster!

Pepper can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Oyster is looking to escape.

Pepper moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Oyster has worked his arm free - good work by Oyster!
Pepper takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Pepper is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Oyster knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Oyster wants to get back to his feet but Pepper drags him back down.

Pepper tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Oyster is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Pepper in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Oyster is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Pepper has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Pepper wants to lay and pray for a moment but Oyster keeps working.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Pepper shoots in but Oyster avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Pepper closes this distance looking for a takedown but Oyster circles away.
Mikey Pepper has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Pepper swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Earl Oyster showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Oyster, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
