Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Matt Richards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and CJ Riley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). CJ Riley is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Richards shoots in looking for a takedown. Riley tries to sprawl out of it but Richards keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Riley manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Richards circles away from the clinch attempt.

Richards shoots in and bounces Riley off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Richards has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Riley is trying to control the position but Richards postures up.
Riley keeping moving, preventing Richards from controlling successfully.

Riley had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Richards is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Riley Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Richards's back instead.

Riley is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Richards has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Riley scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Richards is looking for a way out.
