Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Max Shadows (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Noel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Noel has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Jay Noel has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Noel slips a jab and a cross from Shadows.
Shadows closes the distance and clinches up with Noel, looking for a takedown. Shadows pushes Noel against the cage but Noel circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Shadows tries to bum rush Noel with a series of wild strikes but Noel uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Nice uppercut lands for Noel. That snapped Shadows's head back.

Shadows throws a series of punches but Noel avoids them all with ease.
Shadows attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Shadows drops Noel with a right and a left! Shadows comes rushing in but Noel regains his composure and manages to keep Shadows in guard.

Noel is rocked!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Shadows drops back looking for a leg! Noel is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Noel manages to kick Shadows off! Shadows jumps back into Noel's guard.

Shadows loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Shadows has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Shadows slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Shadows really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Shadows has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Noel is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Shadows yanks on the arm and Noel is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Shadows.
