Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jaeq Lauzou!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Amir Zuka!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Alec Ball and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lauzou misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A punch combination from Lauzou misses.
Jaeq Lauzou seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A nice inside leg kick there by Lauzou. That's going to slow Zuka down.
Lauzou lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Zuka backs up against the cage.
Lauzou cracks Zuka with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Zuka throws a front kick aimed at Lauzou's knee but Lauzou avoids it well.
Zuka steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Lauzou.
Zuka avoids the head kick by Lauzou.
Zuka on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Lauzou goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Zuka needs to keep his hands up - Lauzou had a free shot at his head there.

It looks like Jaeq Lauzou has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lauzou is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Lauzou is really struggling to control Zuka but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Zuka stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lauzou swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Lauzou wants to sweep but no luck.

Lauzou can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Zuka controls the pace.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Zuka throws a head kick that half lands.
A looping hook to the body misses from Lauzou. Zuka does a little dance to reset his feet.
Lauzou will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Lauzou tries for a takedown but Zuka sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Lauzou thuds his right hand into Zuka's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Lauzou swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Lauzou throws a right and a left that Zuka avoids nicely.
Zuka delivers a nice body kick.
Zuka tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lauzou swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Lauzou misses with a series of wild punches.
Lauzou avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Lauzou throws a right hand that Zuka ducks under and follows up with a left that Zuka also avoids with ease.
Zuka throws a head kick but Lauzou moves out of range.
Amir Zuka is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Zuka slips a jab and a cross from Lauzou.
Zuka throws a head kick that half lands.
Zuka tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Lauzou scores with a jab to the body.
Lauzou tries to score a power double leg takedown but Zuka sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lauzou somewhat.

Zuka stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Lauzou.
A left lands for Lauzou.
Zuka throws a lazy head kick
and Lauzou counters with a single leg into guard. Zuka didn't expect that.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Zuka wants to stand but Lauzou is controlling the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Zuka avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lauzou makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Lauzou seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jaeq Lauzou will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Zuka feints and then cracks Lauzou's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Lauzou down.

Lauzou closes this distance looking for a takedown but Zuka circles away.

Zuka lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Zuka lands a big head kick that sends Lauzou to the canvas! Zuka follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
