PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Trent Hondo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Even Steven (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steven has chosen Metallica-Enter Sandman as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Trent Hondo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Even Steven!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Thiago Cunha and Edson Gomes.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steven slips under a jab from Hondo.
Hondo misses the shot to the body.
Hondo throws a body punch but Steven moves out of range.
Steven will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Steven looks to land a left hand but Hondo moved out of range nicely.
Hondo defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Steven.
Steven tries to close the distance and clinch but Hondo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Steven with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Hondo to score with a decent uppercut.
Hondo tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Steven was well out of range. Poor timing from Hondo.
A jab from Hondo misses.
Steven displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hondo throws out the jab.
Hondo throws a sloppy head kick and Steven moves out of range easily.
Steven wants to clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hondo lands a with a good body shot.
No joy there for Hondo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Hondo - that will leave a mark!
Hondo motions for Steven to come forward. Hondo throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Hondo works the jab nicely.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hondo scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Steven doesn't seem bothered though.
Steven looks gassed!
Steven moves away from the strike by Hondo.
Hondo thows a body shot but no joy.
Trent Hondo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Hondo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hondo throws the left hand but Steven avoids the punch easily.
Hondo throws a head kick but Steven moves out of range.
Hondo sizes up Steven with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Steven shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hondo but Hondo pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Trent Hondo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Even Steven.
Hondo jabs at Steven's body.
Hondo throws a sloppy head kick and Steven moves out of range easily.
Hondo looks to score with a jab to the body but Steven is just out of range.
Hondo misses the jab.

Hondo drops Steven with a beautiful combination! Steven stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Hondo is looking for the KO!

Steven is rocked!
Hondo ducks down and throws a big overhand right - it lands flush on the jaw, knocking Steven out cold! The fight is over!
