Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sven Runestorm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and JP Sopa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sven Runestorm!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, JP Sopa!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Frank Dennis and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Runestorm connects with a jab.


It looks like JP Sopa has been cut.

Runestorm forces Sopa back against the cage and clinches.

Sopa lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Runestorm is trying to stand up here but Sopa is controlling him well.
Runestorm keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Sopa tries to pass to full mount but Runestorm defends it.
Runestorm is staying active underneath Sopa, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Runestorm pushes Sopa off and gets back to his feet.

Runestorm gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Runestorm has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Sopa uses from the top position.
Sopa prevents Runestorm from getting back to his feet.
Sopa content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Sopa trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Runestorm is looking to stand back up but Sopa counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Runestorm.

Sopa prevents Runestorm from improving his position.
Sopa is looking to take a break and control but Runestorm is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Sopa seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Runestorm is trying to escape back to his feet but Sopa uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Runestorm is trying to improve his position.
Runestorm is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Sopa is controlling him well.
Runestorm knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sopa on the ground.
Sopa cracks Runestorm with a big elbow.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Runestorm gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Sopa wants to control the pace but Runestorm is squirming around nicely.
Sopa might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Runestorm kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Sopa moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Runestorm has worked his arm free - good work by Runestorm!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Runestorm pushes Sopa away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Sopa gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Runestorm tries to bench press Sopa off him but Sopa keeps the position.
Sopa is trying to ground and pound but Runestorm uses the momentary lack of control by Sopa to regain half guard.
Sopa seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Runestorm does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Sopa thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Sopa is looking for a kimura but Runestorm is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Sopa to get the leverage.

Runestorm will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Runestorm tries to clinch but Sopa is having none of it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Runestorm lands with a hook. Sopa tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Sven Runestorm seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sopa shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Runestorm defends it nicely.
Sopa avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Runestorm doesn't manage to clinch there - Sopa circles away.
Left hook, right uppercut from Runestorm.


Sopa is rocked!
Runestorm lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Sopa can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Runestorm and Sopa drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Runestorm.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sven Runestorm!
