Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Pera Vihtahousu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Herman Lang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vihtahousu comes into the arena with Konevitsan Kirkonkellot blaring out of the sound system. Pera Vihtahousu has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lang dodges the punch combination from Vihtahousu.

Vihtahousu rushes Lang and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Vihtahousu has Lang pressed against the cage, preventing Lang from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Lang fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Lang blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Vihtahousu manages to break the clinch.
Vihtahousu misses with the combination.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lang misses with a two punch combination.
Lang looks for a takedown but Vihtahousu sprawls well.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Lang.
Pera Vihtahousu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Herman Lang.

Lang tries to close the distance and clinch but Vihtahousu swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

and Lang counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Herman Lang seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lang avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Vihtahousu throws a series of punches but Lang avoids them all with ease.
A slow jab from Vihtahousu misses its intended target.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Lang is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Vihtahousu gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Lang jumps guard but Vihtahousu stands there with Lang around his waist. Lang gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

and Vihtahousu counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Vihtahousu.
Lang tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Vihtahousu just stands there and leans against the cage.

Lang has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Vihtahousu is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Lang is looking to control Vihtahousu's arms but Vihtahousu gets an underhook and turns him. Now Lang has his back to the cage.
Lang fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Vihtahousu manages to break the clinch.
Lang tries for a takedown but Vihtahousu circles away easily
enabling Vihtahousu to counter with a crisp jab.
Vihtahousu misses with an uppercut. Lang saw that one coming.

Vihtahousu takes the fight into the clinch.
Vihtahousu tries to land knees in the clinch but Lang avoids the damage to the body.

Vihtahousu's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Vihtahousu cracks Lang with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Vihtahousu has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Lang to stand back up!

Lang throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Vihtahousu was covering up waiting for the punch and Lang finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Pera Vihtahousu dominated that round.

Vihtahousu tries to land a front kick but Lang steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Vihtahousu, right into the meat.
Vihtahousu tries to clinch but Lang moves out of range.

Vihtahousu fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lang sprawls well initially but Vihtahousu persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Vihtahousu is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Lang still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Lang has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

and Vihtahousu counters with a series of strikes that practically lifts Lang off his feet! He tumbles backwards, his head bouncing off the mat - Vihtahousu follows up with more strikes before the ref can step in but Lang was out before he hit the floor.
