Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fetuli Manu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Walsh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ben Walsh will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Fetuli Manu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ben Walsh!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Yves DeLean and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Manu wants to clinch up but Walsh keeps it at a distance.
No luck for Walsh with that takedown attempt.

Manu shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Walsh has a closed guard, preventing Manu from standing up.

Manu gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Manu shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Manu showed some decent athleticism there.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Manu is pulling down on Walsh's head. It's preventing any offense from Walsh, at least for the moment.

Manu manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Walsh manages to get himself to full guard.

Manu fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fetuli Manu. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Manu shoots for a double leg takedown but Walsh sprawls well. He's pushed Manu's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Manu shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Manu was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Manu is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Walsh is desperately trying to improve his position but Manu has a good base and remains in mount.
Walsh tries to hold on but Manu postures up.
Walsh can't escape the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Walsh dives in and grabs Manu's left leg, looking for a takedown. Manu pushes down on Walsh's head and hops out.

Manu throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Walsh's waist but Walsh gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Manu off to one side.

Walsh stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Walsh wants it to stay on the feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

and Walsh decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Manu's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Walsh thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Fetuli Manu overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Manu tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Walsh has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Manu's face.

Manu is wriggling around trying to escape.

Manu is working hard here to advance position.
Manu might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Manu sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Manu is not content to let Walsh control the position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Walsh is nestled in close to Manu, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Walsh is trying to control. Manu wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Manu works his way to full guard. Good work.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Manu holds on and takes a little breather.

Manu escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Walsh gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Manu seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ben Walsh showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Manu throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Manu wants to stand but Walsh is controlling the position.

Walsh must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Walsh gets caught flat footed, as Manu shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Walsh bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Manu's guard.
Manu manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Walsh manages to get himself to full guard.

Manu is pushing down on Walsh's leg trying to pass to half guard. Walsh is fighting to maintain full guard but Manu has managed to sneak the leg through.
Walsh is controlling Manu's trapped leg to prevent Manu from advancing to side control.
Manu wants to stand up but Walsh is controlling the position.
Walsh wants to improve his position but Manu is controlling well.

Manu cracks Walsh with a big right hand but Walsh just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Manu decides to stand back up. Manu steps back and let's Walsh get back to his feet.

Walsh seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Manu does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Manu wants to improve his position but Walsh is controlling well.
Manu pushes Walsh off looking to stand but Walsh dives back in and keeps control.
Manu connecting with a few gentle strikes.
Walsh wants to stand up but Manu has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Walsh keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ben Walsh comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Walsh has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
