Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Frank Shamrock!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jose Alves!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Radbod Blank and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Alves lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Shamrock circles away quickly and effectively.

Alves misses with a body kick.
Alves tries to close the distance and clinch but Shamrock swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Jose Alves seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
No joy there for Shamrock, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Alves stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
