Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Keni Susi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bihom Tarsun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Susi comes to the cage accompanied by Metallica - Hero of the Day. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Keni Susi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Bihom Tarsun!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Wagner Zegers and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tarsun connects with a solid leg kick.

Susi shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Tarsun manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Susi trying to control but Tarsun is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tarsun not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Susi passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Susi tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Susi tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Susi has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Susi tries to move to full mount but Tarsun actually manages to regain half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tarsun is trying to get back to full guard.
Tarsun is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Tarsun won't allow Susi to pass to mount.

Susi is looking for a kimura here.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Susi is trying hard to land a takedown here. Tarsun sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Tarsun misses with an uppercut.
Tarsun thuds his right hand into Susi's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Susi scores with a takedown into Tarsun's guard.

Susi drops back, looking for a kneebar! Tarsun looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Tarsun looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Tarsun!
Susi tries to get back to half guard but can't.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Tarsun tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Tarsun wants to control but Susi is keeping him busy.
Tarsun looks up at the clock and then as Susi takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Tarsun smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Susi struggling a bit here.
Susi tries to buck Tarsun off but Tarsun is having none of it.
Tarsun scores with a couple of short elbows.
Susi is trying to control Tarsun's posture but Tarsun avoids it.
Susi tries to strike but it doesn't land.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Tarsun trying to control the position but Susi is working away.
Tarsun creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Susi sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Tarsun shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Tarsun was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Susi regains half guard.
Tarsun scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Susi keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Susi throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Tarsun has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Susi takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Bihom Tarsun will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Ouch! a nice leg kick from Tarsun, right into the meat.
Susi misses with a takedown attempt

and Tarsun counters with a shoot takedown. Susi fights it but they end up in guard.

Susi is looking for a triangle but Tarsun pushes his legs off easily.

Susi has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tarsun can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Susi has his foot on Tarsun's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Tarsun works his way back into a safe position though.

Susi escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Tarsun gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Tarsun working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Tarsun trying to control the position from guard on top but Susi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tarsun lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Susi escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Tarsun gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Susi has his foot on Tarsun's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Tarsun works his way back into a safe position though.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Susi not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Susi keeping moving, preventing Tarsun from controlling successfully.

Susi is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Tarsun must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Tarsun lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Tarsun postures up.
Tarsun connects with a couple of short punches.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Tarsun's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Tarsun drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Tarsun jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Tarsun working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Tarsun wants to control from the top but Susi keeps moving.

Susi throws his legs up looking for a submission but Tarsun uses it to pass to side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Susi struggling a bit here.
Tarsun in side control lands a decent elbow.
Susi is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Tarsun off and has taken his back!
Tarsun breaks Susi's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Susi looking for a triangle here. Tarsun is fighting it but it looks tight! Susi pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Tarsun is tapping out - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:03 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Keni Susi!
