Keynes comes to the cage accompanied by Concerto for Four Violins in B minor. Itaniemi has chosen Volbeat - Still Counting as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. John Keynes could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Urho Itaniemi's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Keynes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Urho Itaniemi!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Tarja Halkonen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Itaniemi avoids a punch combination nicely.
A head kick misses from Keynes.
Keynes throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Itaniemi just misses with a punch to the body.
Itaniemi blocks a leg kick.
Keynes misses with a head kick.
Keynes takes a swing at Itaniemi's ribcage but misses.
Keynes misses with a looping left.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Keynes keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Itaniemi.
Keynes misses with a double jab.
Keynes displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Itaniemi throws out the jab.
John Keynes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Keynes takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Itaniemi lands a big head kick that sends Keynes tumbling to the mat! Itaniemi takes a step backwards and waves Keynes back to his feet - he wants the finish!


It looks like John Keynes has been cut.
Itaniemi fails with an attempt to clinch.
Keynes getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Itaniemi misses with a wild combination.

Keynes shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Keynes was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Itaniemi is wriggling around trying to escape.
Itaniemi is just holding on here. Keynes manages to take his back.

Itaniemi wants to escape the position.
Itaniemi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Keynes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Keynes working for a choke but Itaniemi is defending well.

Keynes is persistently looking for the submission but Itaniemi is defending it well.
Keynes controlling well, preventing Itaniemi from escaping the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Itaniemi is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Keynes avoiding Itaniemi 's attempts to control his hands.

Itaniemi defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Keynes's arms.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that John Keynes will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on John Keynes's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


The fighters circling - Keynes throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Keynes darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Keynes throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Keynes dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Itaniemi. That did some damage!
Keynes throws a push kick but Itaniemi slaps the foot to one side.
Keynes tries to close the distance and clinch up but Itaniemi swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Itaniemi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Itaniemi comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Itaniemi connects with a jab.

Keynes moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Keynes misses with a combination
and Itaniemi counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Keynes misses the body punch
and Itaniemi counters with a left to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
A head kick misses from Itaniemi.
Itaniemi closes the distance but Keynes moves to the side
letting Keynes counter with a right hand.

Keynes looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Itaniemi wants to control but Keynes is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Keynes works his way into side control.
An elbow from Keynes crashes against the mat.
Keynes scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Itaniemi to see if he's OK.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Itaniemi is looking to regain half guard here but Keynes keeps moving and retains side control.

Keynes tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Keynes has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Itaniemi wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.

Keynes tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Itaniemi tries to bench press Keynes off him but Keynes keeps the position.
Itaniemi struggling a bit here.

Itaniemi wants to control the position but that's not easy when your opponent is in side control! Keynes seems to be going for some sort of submission here. Hard to say what - oh, it's a Brabo choke! He's got it! Itaniemi is tapping! Wow, great finish!
