Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jonas Hansson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zig Ziggler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 4 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jonas Hansson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Zig Ziggler!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ziggler walks into a straight right hand from Hansson.

Hansson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hansson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hansson has a takedown stuffed.
Ziggler circles away from the clinch attempt.
No joy there for Ziggler, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hansson.
Ziggler throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Hansson stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Hansson is breathing heavily.

Ziggler shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Ziggler showed some decent athleticism there.
Ziggler is nestled in close to Hansson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

I looks like Ziggler might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Ziggler is taking a breather. Hansson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Hansson wants to improve his position but Ziggler is controlling well.
Hansson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Ziggler takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Hansson looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Ziggler pushes past his half guard into mount!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Hansson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ziggler pulls his head out easily.
Ziggler lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Ziggler seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Ziggler is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Ziggler in particular looking to stall.
Hansson wants to control but Ziggler is keeping busy.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Hansson wants to get back to full guard.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Ziggler is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Hansson's shoulder. That is not cool.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Ziggler counters by clinching up.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Ziggler has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Hansson avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Hansson is trying to drag Ziggler to the mat but Ziggler just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jonas Hansson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Ziggler escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Let's hope that Ziggler has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Hansson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Hansson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ziggler can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Well Ziggler has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
