Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between EJ Balingit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Curtis Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones has chosen Who Dat by Young Jeezy as his entrance music. Curtis Jones has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, EJ Balingit!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Curtis Jones!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Daniel Blasius and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Balingit throws out the jab.
Balingit throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jones.
Jones slips a jab from Balingit.
Jones takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Jones slips a straight right by Balingit.
Jones throws a shot from downtown. Balingit moves away and avoids it.
Balingit avoids a punch combination nicely.
EJ Balingit seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jones misses with a looping right.
Jones throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Balingit sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Balingit misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Jones.
Balingit swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Balingit darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Balingit blocks a jab.
Jones works the jab nicely.
Jones thows a left - swing and a miss!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Balingit moves away from the strike by Jones.
Balingit throws a left and a right that both miss

so Jones counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Balingit has control of Jones's left arm, preventing Jones from doing any damage.
Balingit can't keep his opponent in guard - Jones advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Jones missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

Jones is trying to work for a kimura but Balingit is defending well.
Jones wants to pass the guard but Balingit is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jones wants to advance to full mount but Balingit doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Jones forces his way into half guard.

Balingit is defending against the submission attempts here by Jones.

Jones wants to work for an arm triangle but Balingit is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jones is keen to just control but Balingit is a slippery customer.
Jones tries to pass to full mount but Balingit defends it.
Balingit tries to get to full guard but Jones has control of the leg.
Balingit keeping hold of Jones's head, controlling as best he can.

Jones is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Balingit is just riding it out for now. Jones eventually gives up the hold.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Jones is looking to pass Balingit's guard but actually Balingit recovers to full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Balingit swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Balingit uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Jones.
Balingit digs a good body shot into Jones's ribs.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that EJ Balingit will probably get the nod.
That's time! Balingit's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Balingit misses with a hook. Jones ducked under it nicely.
Jones looks to land a left hand but Balingit moved out of range nicely.
Balingit lands a slapping body shot.
Some wild striking there from Balingit.
Balingit works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Balingit lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.


It looks like Curtis Jones has been cut.
Balingit cracks Jones with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Jones tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Balingit pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Jones is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). EJ Balingit!
EJ Balingit retains his super heavyweight title!
