The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maxwell throws a nice looking combination but Johnson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Johnson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Maxwell as he avoids it easily.
A punch combination from Maxwell misses.
Johnson takes a jab right on the kisser.
Johnson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Johnson tries to clinch but Maxwell moves out of range.
Johnson shoots for a takedown but Maxwell saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mathew Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Maxwell is looking to clinch.
Johnson fails to land with a series of punches.
Maxwell clobbers Johnson with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Johnson drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Maxwell gets the underhooks and prevents it.

and Johnson counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Johnson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Maxwell misses the shot to the body.
Johnson thuds his right hand into Maxwell's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Johnson falls off balance throwing a combination
and Maxwell counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Johnson looks to clinch
and Johnson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Maxwell wants to clinch.
Maxwell misses with a combination
and Johnson counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Maxwell uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Johnson.

Maxwell throws a big shot that misses.
A combination from Johnson does no damage.
Johnson scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Johnson shoots in for a double leg but Maxwell sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Maxwell lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Johnson backs up against the cage.
Johnson throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Maxwell sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Johnson looks to land a right hand but Maxwell moved out of range.

Maxwell throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Johnson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Maxwell as he jumps to the side.
Johnson on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Johnson is rocked!
Maxwell is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Johnson hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!
