Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between MATADOR FIG (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Borrum Someer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, MATADOR FIG!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Borrum Someer!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Saam Ante and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
FIG misses with a few strikes there.
No luck for Someer with that takedown attempt.
FIG wants to clinch.

Someer changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. FIG looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Someer takes advantage of some sloppy striking from FIG to pass into mount.
FIG is looking to get to half guard.
FIG squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

Someer is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, FIG has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Someer with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
FIG is working to get back to half guard.

Someer looking to secure an arm triangle but FIG defends it well.

Someer has control of FIG's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and FIG regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Someer looks gassed!
FIG is desperately trying to improve his position but Someer has a good base and remains in mount.
FIG knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Someer on the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
FIG is working hard here to advance position.

FIG srikes from the bottom but he's lost position and has given up his back.
FIG is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

FIG wants to escape the position.

FIG is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
FIG is trying to break free.
FIG turns into Someer and is now in his guard.
FIG wants to stand but Someer has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Someer manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
FIG gets back to half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

FIG is trying to stand.
FIG pushes Someer off but Someer dives into side control.
Someer working the ground and pound.
Someer landing a few strikes.

Someer thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Someer is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but FIG is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Someer is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. FIG knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Someer tries for a kimura but FIG is defending well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
FIG tries to get back to half guard but can't.
FIG is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Someer asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Someer is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. FIG knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Someer tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
FIG tries to improve position but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Borrum Someer dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Someer closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. FIG did well to prevent Someer getting side control.
FIG wants to get back to his feet.
FIG wants to get back to full guard but Someer has mounted him!

Someer working for a submission but FIG is keeping him at bay.

Someer stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
FIG moves in looking to clinch but Someer pushes him off.
FIG misses with a takedown

and Someer counters with a takedown into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
FIG is looking for a sweep.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Someer has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for FIG!
Someer postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. FIG looks a forlorn figure.
Someer pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Someer jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but FIG manages to avoid the submission attempt.
FIG tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Someer wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
FIG is not content to let Someer control the position.
FIG sneaks back into half guard.
FIG is staying active underneath Someer, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Someer stops FIG from getting back to his feet.

Someer is looking for a kimura here.
FIG is looking for a sweep. Someer is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
FIG throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Someer is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! FIG is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Borrum Someer!
