Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jonas Muikku (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matti Nukku (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nukku has chosen Enter Sandman as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jonas Muikku!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matti Nukku!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nukku throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Some wild striking there from Nukku.
Nukku misses with a few strikes there.
Nukku throws a sloppy head kick and Muikku moves out of range easily.
Muikku stuffs the takedown attempt from Nukku. Nukku gets slowly back to his feet.
Left hook, right uppercut from Muikku.
Horrible takedown by Muikku or perhaps it was just good defense by Nukku which made him look bad.
Muikku dodges the punch combination from Nukku.

and Muikku counters with a head kick.
Muikku tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Nukku paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Muikku counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Nukku thinking.
Jonas Muikku has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matti Nukku.

and Nukku counters with a stiff right hand.

Nukku shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Muikku but Muikku pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Nukku looks gassed!
Muikku fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Muikku cracks Nukku with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Nukku looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Nukku shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Muikku but Muikku pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Muikku moves into the clinch.
Nukku blocks an elbow strike.
Nukku keeps control of Muikku as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Nukku has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Muikku is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Muikku can't break the clinch.
Muikku escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nukku misses with a wild body shot.

and Muikku counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Nukku swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Muikku counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Nukku is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Nukku seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nukku drops back looking for a leg! Muikku is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Muikku manages to kick Nukku off! Nukku jumps back into Muikku's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nukku thows a big elbow that misses.
Muikku could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Muikku changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Nukku looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Nukku sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Nukku is trying to get back to full guard.

Nukku wants to sweep but no luck.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Nukku is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Muikku's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Muikku's back!
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Nukku's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Nukku doesn't have the hooks in and Muikku manages to turn into his guard.

Nukku is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Muikku is just riding it out for now. Nukku eventually gives up the hold.

Muikku escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nukku gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Nukku drops back looking for a leg! Muikku is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Muikku manages to kick Nukku off! Nukku jumps back into Muikku's guard.
Nukku won't allow Muikku to sweep him here.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Nukku wants to lay and pray for a moment but Muikku keeps working.

Muikku is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Nukku is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Nukku stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Muikku swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Muikku stalks Nukku and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Nukku's face. Nukku staggers backwards, shaken.

and Muikku counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Nukku has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Muikku is working away from the top position though.
