PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Cole Rogan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Pepper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pepper has chosen Pimp C - Knockin doors down as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Cole Rogan has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cole Rogan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tommy Pepper!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pepper fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Rogan fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Rogan misses with a double jab.
Rogan moves out of range of the body kick from Pepper.
Rogan has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Pepper finds it's way round the side to connect with Rogan's head.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Rogan.
Rogan fails in his attempt to clinch.

Pepper shoots in and bounces Rogan off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Pepper passes Rogan's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Pepper passes the guard and advances to mount!
Rogan is trying to stand up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Pepper working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Rogan tries to lock up and control but Pepper gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Pepper goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Rogan turns into him and now he's in Pepper's guard.

Pepper escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rogan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Rogan pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Pepper is keeping the position for now.

Pepper is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pepper pulls Rogan in close to his closed guard and prevents Rogan from doing any damage or advancing position.
Rogan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pepper swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Rogan avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Pepper looks gassed!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rogan wants to stand but Pepper has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Pepper is looking to sinch up a triangle. Rogan throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Pepper's body to avoid the submission. Pepper has instead reached around Rogan's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Pepper arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:03 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Tommy Pepper!
