Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jonathan Weed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Redman - Da goodness kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Frank Smith was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith just misses with a punch to the body.
Weed moves out of range of the strikes.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Weed, as that shot connected.

Smith takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Weed takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Weed rushes Smith and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Smith lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Smith is looking to break free of the clinch but Weed has double underhooks.
Smith is working for takedown but Weed is calmly controlling the position for now.
Weed pushes Smith back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Smith does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Smith goes for a takedown attempt but Weed pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

and Smith counters with a two punch combo.

Smith throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

and Smith decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Weed's guard.
Smith postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Smith keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Weed's head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Weed is pulling down on Smith's head. It's preventing any offense from Smith, at least for the moment.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Weed stands and steps away. Smith gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jonathan Weed.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Weed, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
