The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kane throws a low kick, looking for Karnos's leg but Karnos calmly moves out of range.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Karnos is defended easily by Kane.
Kane fails in his attempt to clinch.
Kane tries to clinch but Karnos is having none of it.
Kane tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Karnos tries to roll over but Kane keeps him under control.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kane is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.

Karnos is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Kane has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Karnos is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Kane is in real trouble.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Karnos looking to break Kane's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Kane remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Karnos will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Kane is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Karnos gets his way!

Karnos is looking for the choke from the back position but Kane is controlling his hands well.

Kane is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Karnos defends well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Karnos stands and throws Kane's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Karnos tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Karnos has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Karnos is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kane is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Karnos has hold of Kane's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Kane tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Karnos cranks the arm and Kane screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Kane, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
