Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ali Akbar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Santiago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Santiago is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Get Em Up - Cypress Hill. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Steve Erwin and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akbar throws out a loose jab but Santiago uses good head movement to avoid it.
Akbar ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Akbar pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Santiago scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Akbar decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Santiago keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Santiago is positioning himself well to prevent Akbar advancing to mount.

Santiago pushes Akbar off looking to stand but Akbar dives back in and keeps control.

A nice left hand lands by Santiago.
Santiago manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Akbar tries to score a body lock takedown but Santiago shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Santiago swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Santiago scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Santiago throws a shot to the body.
Akbar takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Santiago wants to slow Akbar down by chopping away at his legs.
Santiago getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

Santiago cracks Akbar with a good jab.
Santiago lands a left and a right that send Akbar crashing to the mat, dazed. Santiago thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Akbar is rocked!
It looks like Ali Akbar has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Santiago ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Oh Akbar is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Santiago throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Akbar stumbling backwards into the cage! Akbar bounces back off the cage towards Santiago, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Santiago lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Santiago celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Carlos Santiago!
