Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Lashley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yong Hoon Kim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Bobby Lashley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Yong Hoon Kim!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Atkins and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lashley closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Kim jumps guard but Lashley stands there with Kim around his waist. Kim gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Lashley pulls guard successfully.

Lashley wriggles free and stands up.
Lashley circles away from the clinch attempt

and Lashley counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Lashley thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Lashley missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Lashley trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Kim working a defensive guard here.
Kim might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Lashley kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Kim manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Lashley wants to hold on but Kim pushes him away.

It looks like Kim is going to stand back up.

Lashley darts in and clinches Kim up against the cage.
Lashley tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kim just stands there and leans against the cage.

Kim tries to pull guard but Lashley holds him up against the cage and eventually Kim drops back down to his feet.
Kim fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Bobby Lashley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yong Hoon Kim.

Lashley ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Lashley no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Lashley closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kim to the mat! Kim manages to get full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kim doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Lashley drops back, looking for a kneebar! Kim looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Kim looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Kim!
Lashley is breathing heavily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kim wants to stand but Lashley has his arm trapped.
Kim tries to advance to mount but can't.
Kim has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Lashley looking for a sweep but Kim has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Kim misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Lashley is trying to reverse the position but instead Kim has taken his back - oops!
Lashley is trying to get back to his feet but Kim has full control of the position and if anything, Lashley has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Lashley wants to escape the position.
Kim lands shots from the back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Kim closes the distance but Lashley moves to the side

Lashley prevents the takedown attempt.
Kim tries to pull guard but Lashley won't allow it.
Kim drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Lashley gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Bobby Lashley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yong Hoon Kim.
Kim can't break the clinch.
Kim jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Lashley walks away with a smile on his face. Kim gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

and Lashley decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kim's guard.
Kim is breathing heavily.
Lashley stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kim swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Lashley is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Kim is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Kim has escaped and now he's on top!
Kim wants to control from the top but Lashley keeps moving.

Kim won't allow Lashley to get back to his feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Lashley avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Kim.
The referee asks Kim politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Kim prefers to stall for the moment though.

Lashley drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Kim manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Lashley has Kim in his guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Kim gets his hands free as Lashley looks to control.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Kim's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Lashley decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Well Lashley has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
