Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Alex Richter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darrell Rutledge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Darrell Rutledge is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Darrell Rutledge!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A solid leg kick lands there for Rutledge.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Rutledge misses with a kick to the body.
Richter throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Rutledge.
Richter keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Darrell Rutledge seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rutledge works the jab nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Richter really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rutledge is defended easily by Richter.

Rutledge looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

and Richter connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Rutledge scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Richter will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Rutledge tries to pass the half guard into mount. Richter knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Rutledge is trying to control. Richter wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Richter is trying to stand up here but Rutledge is controlling him well.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Rutledge will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
A punch lands to the side of Rutledge 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Rutledge connects with a single shot there.
Richter throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Rutledge counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Richter uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Rutledge.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Darrell Rutledge showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Rutledge uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Richter gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Richter ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

enabling Rutledge to counter with a crisp jab.
Rutledge misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Richter counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Rutledge looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Rutledge passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Richter!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Rutledge is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Richter to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Richter shrugs it off.
And that's the end of the fight!
Darrell Rutledge comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Rutledge has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
