The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Partner darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Partner is looking for a kimura but Morrison is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Partner to get the leverage.
Morrison looks like he's trying to stand up.
Partner wants to take a breather but Morrison is having none of it.
Partner missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Partner is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Partner has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Partner looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Morrison is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Partner pulls his head out easily.
Partner takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Morrison has his takedown stuffed

and Partner counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Morrison!

Morrison tries to reverse the position but Partner maintains control.

Partner cracks Morrison with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
